Accessibility, Web Sites and the Law
Increase Your Targeted Audience By 20% or MORE !
Does your web site conform to Accessibility Guidelines?
FACT --
1 in 5 people have a Disability! This can significantly restrict their ability to access the web! As the aging population gets larger, this number will continue to grow.
FACT --
Another nearly 20% access the web with a Palm device or some other alternative non-graphical technology.
This means graphic intensive or frames based web sites can be inaccessible to this rapidly growing segment of the market.
Currently --
People with various disabilities have special
devices and methods to use the Internet, often they still find it extremely
difficult, if not impossible, to access the web. Many
accessing the web using Palm devices and other similar alternative
technologies are also locked out of much of what the web offers. WHY?
Because there are many inaccessible web sites that do not follow universally accepted standards
for good design established by a worldwide consortium of experts, commonly referred to as the W3C Standards!

Accessibility Guidelines and Law
New web site design recommendations were recently adopted by a worldwide consortium of experts (W3C).
They addressed making web sites more accessible to all. In support of these guidelines, the United States justice department recently ruled that web sites fall under the American's with Disabilities Act (ADA),
and thus, must be accessible. Otherwise, they will be
in violation of the ADA law. Such violators may be subject to lawsuits.
Some organizations, such as AOL and the Summer Olympics, have already faced such legal action. Currently all governmental
agencies, bureaus, etc., MUST
follow the Accessibility guidelines set forth in Section 508 of the penal code.
A3 will design your web site from the ground up or redesign your
existing site to assure it meets all Accessibility
Guidelines -- MAXIMIZING your market penetration and MINIMIZING
